§ 1 Scope of Application

These General Terms and Conditions apply to all services provided by Convertastic on the domain convertastic.com. By using our services, you agree to these terms.

§ 2 Service Description

Convertastic provides free online file conversion services. We convert files between various formats including images, documents, audio files, and PDFs. The service is provided free of charge and without registration.

Supported File Types

  • Images: PNG, JPG, WebP, HEIC, BMP, TIFF, GIF
  • Documents: PDF, DOCX, TXT, HTML
  • Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, FLAC

§ 3 User Obligations

  • Users must only upload files they own or have permission to convert
  • Illegal content, copyrighted material without permission, and malicious files are prohibited
  • Maximum file size is limited to 100MB per conversion
  • Users must not attempt to overload or abuse the service

§ 4 Data Processing and File Handling

All uploaded files are processed on our servers and automatically deleted within 2 minutes after conversion. We do not store, access, or analyze the content of your files beyond the conversion process.

File processing includes:

  • Temporary storage for conversion processing
  • Format conversion using industry-standard tools
  • Automatic deletion after download or 2-minute timeout

§ 5 Limitation of Liability

Convertastic is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for:

  • Loss of data or files
  • Conversion quality or accuracy
  • Service interruptions or downtime
  • Indirect or consequential damages

Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Users are responsible for backing up important files before conversion.

§ 6 Intellectual Property

Users retain all rights to their uploaded files. Convertastic does not claim ownership of user content. Our service, website design, and software are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

§ 7 Service Availability

We strive to provide 24/7 service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates, or technical issues may cause temporary service disruptions.

§ 8 Prohibited Use

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Uploading malicious software or viruses
  • Converting copyrighted content without permission
  • Automated bulk processing without authorization
  • Attempting to reverse engineer or compromise the service
  • Using the service for illegal activities

§ 9 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of modified terms.

§ 10 Governing Law

These terms are governed by German law. Any disputes shall be resolved in German courts. If any provision is invalid, the remaining terms remain in effect.
